Praise Him with Art & Music

Picture

Objective:

In this lesson you will learn how to translate music into a visual form to create an abstract drawing

You Will Need:

  • Praise music of your choice (one song)
  • Art paper or a sketchbook paper
  • Colour pencils (or other colour materials)

Process:

  • Make sure you are in a calm environment
  • Play the praise song on repeat
  • As you listen, think about what color would be suitable for this music and begin to apply your color to the paper
  • Feel the music and create marks (shapes, lines, patterns) on the paper that you believe represent the music
  • Continue to draw and add colors
  • You may be influenced by the beat, the rhythm, or the structure of the music
  • Consider the composition of your artwork
  • Continue as long as you need to until you feel your artwork is finished
