Mr. Boots (aka Booty) stole our hearts. He came with our house and we fell in love with him. Even though he was an outside cat, he never left the yard. He always greeted us and followed us around if we were outside. If you rode by our house around 7am or 6pm you saw me sitting on the front porch with him.  Our Disciple Group started out meeting at Southern Grounds, a coffee shop in Neptune Beach. We quickly decided to travel the beaches, meeting at a different coffee shop each Wednesday morning. (We are now the Coffee, Jeans, & Jesus D Group.) Yesterday we met at Cup of Job on First Ave N in Jax Beach. As I was waiting for my coffee order, I saw a young man reading his Bible. I said something to him and he told me, “God is teaching me to not live in the past and not look at myself as who I was, but to look at myself as who I now am as a child of God.” As he said this, the whisper of the Holy Spirit was in my ear, “He needs to join the D Group this morning and throw off his grave clothes.” (Our lesson was on John 11 where Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. When Lazarus comes out of the tomb he is covered with grave clothes. Jesus tells the people, "Unbind him..." In other words, throw off your grave clothes. Leave them behind. Move forward into your new life.) So I invited the young man to join us. What a blessing for us and for him. God is so good. He knew exactly what Karl needed to hear. And He knew we would gain from the knowledge Karl had of the Bible. Honestly I think he would join our women’s group every week if I asked him. Karl has a heart for Jesus and an incredible knowledge of the Word. What an incredible blessing God had for us!
