This is why I missed the last week of school -- my first grandson Theo was born and my son Josh graduated. To all the 8th graders--I will miss you! Keep your eyes on Jesus and follow where he leads you. Also a huge thank you goes to Heidi Stone for setting up the Spring Showcase artwork! The Winter Showcase was a great success this year! Thank you Tina Mejia, Laura DeBarard, Lori Stevenson, Liz Atacan, Mr. Jesus, high schoolers Shae, Ellie, Devon, David & Nicholas, and middle schoolers Cade, Justin, & Connor. Your help was appreciated! Students are going through artwork, finishing projects, and choosing favorites for the FBCS Night of the Arts, a celebration of everyone's creativity. It will be held May 14th. Here are a few pieces that students have selected to exhibit. Mark your calendars because EVERY student will have artwork displayed. Next comes matting and labeling. The next few weeks are going to be busy!
The FBCS Open House was a great success. All the special teachers and after school programs had information tables set up in the Fellowship Hall. Middle schoolers signed up for electives. The lunch program had samples of food and attracted a lot of attention. Teachers displayed current classwork and shared ideas for next year with students and parents in their classrooms. A BIG thank you to our Parent volunteers and to the 8th grade class, Sidney Kniep, Sam Zyak, and Alex Chase for all your help at the art table. In case you were unable to attend the following describes the middle school art program for next year.

Emphasis will be placed on individual projects and developing work. FBCS has been very busy over the past few weeks! We had Night of the Arts. The artwork and the talent show was fabulous --- I am so proud of our students! We had spirit week. Each day students dressed up. I saw favorite sports teams, tacky tourist, school colors and more. On Friday night we held the 8th grade graduation. Former student, Keandra Bell and Valedictorian Hannah Sarver shared beautiful speeches. Congratulations to all our graduates! In addition, I have been sorting art work, bagging it up, and sending it home. One parent shared how her daughter invited the family to gather in the living room while she unveiled her artwork one piece at a time. I love it! Hope you enjoy the photos below. Looking forward to seeing everyone at FBCS tonight at 6:30. Students will be sharing their talents and their artwork. Former student Karlin Wright will be our M.C. and special guests Wreckless Ambitionz will be preforming "Let Your Problems Go". Students worked all day rehearsing and hanging their artwork for the Open House All School Program & Art Exhibit tomorrow night at 6:30 in the Sanctuary. A huge thank you to the National Junior Art Honor Society and Art Club members for their help after school! Here's a sneak peak of our student's work. |
