I recently finished a class called Art & Global Diversity through University of Florida's Masters in Art Education program. It was an eight week museology course and it was tough. It definitely stretched me but I now know I will never look at a museum exhibition in the same way again. How do I know? Over Christmas my husband took me to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. As we walked through the rooms filled with paintings, sculptures, artifacts, etc. I found myself analyzing, critiquing, and evaluating each space. While taking the course I did not realize the impact it was making but as I walked through the Met, ideas, beliefs, and concepts from articles we read and discussions we participated in ran through my mind. Thank you Dr. Pamela Brekka for an incredible course!
