I believe it is important for each of us to be a continuous learner--someone who continually seeks to develop and improve their skills and knowledge. That is why I am always enrolled in some sort of class. Recently I started taking painting lessons from local artist Brenda Leigh. (How awesome is it that we have the same name!) We meet once a week. During each lesson we work on a different painting and explore color theory, composition, brush strokes, etc. Each week I leave class with a take away. With that said, the growth comes when I take the techniques I have studied and apply them throughout the week. It is not any different with our Christian walk. We need to make the commitment to be a continuous learner of the Word of God. Yes, we all should spend time each day reading the Bible but, being a continuous learner may involve enrolling in a Bible class, seeking out a Bible study group, or looking for a godly mentor. Whatever you choose, the important step is to take the things you study and apply them in your life everyday. It requires dedication and determination. I encourage you to be a continuous learner. Do not be satisfied with where you are. Strive to always learn but most of all, take steps to apply what you have learned. And the best thing is, if you are a follower of Christ, you have he Holy Spirit to help you!
