If you have been in the middle school building you may have wondered if the building was on fire. That is because middle school students are studying the art of Pyrography. "Pyrography is about creating images with monochromatic tones and values by applying heat to a surface using hot metal tips and torches." Rest assured parents we are using hot metal tips but no torches in the FBCS art room. Students looked at the work of Julie Bender and researched ideas on the Internet. Once they decided on an image they transferred them onto sanded pieces of wood and began the process of burning. They look amazing! Below are a few examples of finished work.
